winner2016-copyThe awards are presented each year to organisations and individuals who make a positive impact on the environment and excel in delivering products and services to improve sustainability. They were launched in 1994 by The Green Organisation and have become well established as one of the most popular environmental campaigns in the world.

“We are delighted to win this year’s award and receive the recognition for the Home Quality Mark’s work in improving the quality and sustainability of new homes” says Gwyn Roberts, New Homes and Communities lead at BRE. “It is recognition of the real team effort both across BRE and the UK housing sector and its supply chain. Saint Gobain have supported us from the outset, and are now actively aligning with us with their Multi Comfort standard.”
The Home Quality Mark (HQM) has been created to serve the UK’s housebuilders and the householders who buy and rent new homes. It will help housebuilders demonstrate the high quality of their homes and differentiate them in the marketplace. At the same time, it will give householders the confidence that the new homes they are choosing to buy or rent are well designed and built, and cost effective to run.
