BRE Group has recently been made aware of a “Public Notice” soliciting rooftop PV system “health checks”. If you receive a communication which looks similar to the example shown, please disregard it.

The notice references the BRE National Solar Centre report: “Fire and Solar PV Systems – Investigations and Evidence” (July 2017) and suggests that “all Solar Panel systems fitted to residential and commercial dwellings fitted prior to 2016 may require fire protection.”

The BRE National Solar Centre report does not make this assertion but does make a number of recommendations to improve installation standards and guidance for PV systems.
