Eighteen industry leaders including AECOM and Arup have committed to supporting NABERS UK, BRE's energy efficiency programme for office buildings.

Eighteen industry leaders including AECOM and Arup have committed to being a Supporter of NABERS UK, the energy efficiency programme for office buildings, that is administered by BRE.

As advocates of NABERS UK, the Supporters will work in collaboration with the NABERS UK team and other NABERS UK Supporters. They will contribute to helping new commercial office developments or major refurbishments in the UK to set a base building operational energy performance target, verify its achievement, and help to drive improvements to energy efficiency.

Supporters will achieve this by helping to promote NABERS UK to their clients, support the upskilling of their staff to enable delivery of NABERS UK products (Design for Performance and Energy for Offices), and provide technical input to help shape the future of the scheme.

Farah Syed, NABERS UK Product Manager at BRE said “We are delighted to introduce our NABERS UK Supporters to the industry, and to have their advocacy and support of NABERS UK, which will be key to helping shape the future uptake and evolution of NABERS UK products.

"We very much look forward to working together to bring about improvements to the energy performance of offices”.

BRE and NABERS are delighted to welcome our Supporters:

The world-leading energy rating scheme for offices, NABERS UK energy efficiency rating scheme was launched last month, to help asset owners to achieve their net zero targets and contribute to the UK’s wider decarbonisation drive.

The launch of NABERS comes as asset managers expect to see a rise in demand for energy usage as the UK heads into winter, and face surging energy costs, caused by the escalating energy crisis.
