Are you BIM ready?
BRE BIM Certification
We developed a scheme that offers two pathways to individual BIM certification which will give customers the confidence that individuals can deliver what they need and expect. Having completed the appropriate BIM training criteria these certification routes provide on-going, third-party assessment through a combination of audit and CPD requirements.
BRE BIM Level 2 business systems certification provides you the opportunity to meet – and continue to meet – the appropriate standards. It helps you to provide the highest level of service to your clients.
Pathways to individual certification
BIM Informed Professional
This certification is suitable for those wishing to demonstrate their knowledge of the BIM process. Certification audits require demonstration of the detailed knowledge and understanding gained through training and/or experience on Information Management.
This certification is appropriate for policy makers, advisors, educationalists and construction professionals who are implementing the BIM process.
BIM Certificated Practitioner (Project/Task Information Manager)
This certification is suitable for those wishing to demonstrate their application of the BIM process on live projects. Certification audits cover the detailed knowledge and understanding gained through training and experience. Project Information Manager (PIM) and Task Information Manager (TIM) are roles defined within PAS 1192:2 2013.
This certification is appropriate for project based construction professionals applying an implemented BIM process.
Certification for Business
BIM Level 2 Pre-assessment Service
Companies planning to apply for BRE Global BIM Level 2 Business Systems Certification may wish to consider having a Pre-assessment visit which will be carried out prior to their document submission and initial audit. Whilst the assessment visit is not a formal requirement of the company certification process, it can potentially shorten the time for the process by either indicating the applicant’s readiness or identifying any gaps or misunderstanding. A BIM pre-assessment does not guarantee there will be no nonconformities identified at either the desktop or site audit. Neither does it guarantee that there will be a positive recommendation for certification. However applicants that opt for a pre-assessment and subsequently act upon the issues raised, should have a clearer understanding regarding how they need to implement the BIM Level 2 requirements.
BIM Level 2 Business Systems Certification
Do you want to prove to your clients that your business has the capability to deliver the Government’s BIM Level 2 requirements?
The BRE Global BIM Level 2 Business Systems Certification scheme assesses a business, based in any country, relating to the BIM policy and capability as defined within PAS 1192-2:2013 and PAS 91:2013. It is designed to be used with contract forms, Pre-Qualification Questionnaires (PQQs) and demonstrate BIM Level 2 maturity.
If your company has compliant BIM Level 2 documentation, policies and procedures in place, you may wish to proceed directly and submit an application for document review. However, we advise clients to undertake our pre-assessment service which has been proven to reduce the time and possible additional costs within the certification process.
Once a company has completed the document review, a site audit can be arranged. On successful completion of the on-site audit, meeting all scheme requirements including the closure of non-conformities, BIM Level 2 Business Systems certification will be issued.
