    Details

2014 is a very important year in terms of BIM. The BIM Task Group has gone so far as to declare it ‘the year of Level 2 BIM’. In simple terms, Level 2 is moving from being a ‘project’ to being a ‘solution’. Hence, industry needs to incorporate the processes that will make BIM a reality… Of course, this is easier said than done. Professional engagement with industry is key. Only through positive interaction with and feedback from those that deliver, can Level 2 become commonplace.

Building on the IFC/COBie Trials that have been undertaken over the past 18 months, the buildingSMART UK User Group is hosting this 1/2 day seminar to present the situation to date and to progress BIM in line with current objectives.

There will be two main sessions:

    1. Report - Stage 2 of the IFC/COBie Trial

The final report of this activity has been produced and discussed with the BIM Task Group. This session will formally deliver the IFC/COBie Trial findings, present the government feedback and discuss with delegates how the IFC/COBie Trials will move forward and how to get involved.

    2. Future Trials

Over the past few months, the buildingSMART User Group has invited suggestions for future trials from its members, current COBie trial participants, wider industry and international partners. In this session shortlisted themes will be presented and following a panel discussion, delegates will be invited to take part in a Q&A session covering priorities, moving forward and how to get involved.

Attending this event will be invaluable to any organisation that wants to be kept up to date with the reality BIM deployment and to have a real voice in shaping the future.
